Safety First for Norman Fox: A Visit from CISA and Department of Homeland Security

In November, Norman Fox hosted a cyber security tabletop with local, regional, and national representatives from the Chemical Sector management Team (SMT), the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Department of Homeland Security. This was a great opportunity for the government and the private sector to collaborate with each other and learn about the risks associated with hazardous chemicals.

The event started off the day before with a tour of our facility in Industry, California followed by a tour of the Brenntag facility and culminating with the cybersecurity tabletop exercise the day after.

In attendance were our EHS&S Manager, Chris Abrenica, our VP-General Manager, Vickie Madore, our Customer Service Manager, Yvette Altuna, our Warehouse Supervisor, Allen Zamrok, our IT Technician, Tuan Chu, and our Plant Manager – Industry, Daniel Alvarado. The tabletop exercise examined chemical companies and local, regional and national representatives’ response to a cyber and physical convergence scenario involving hazardous chemicals in transit within CISA Region 9.

At Norman Fox, we maintain the highest safety standards in our manufacturing facilities and in all external operations. Our commitment is reflected in our proactive approach to ensuring safe working environments and our meticulous adherence to safety regulations. We thank CISA and the Department of Homeland Security as well as the Chemical Sector management Team for taking the time to conduct this tabletop exercise.
