Women in Chemicals Conference

Women in Chemicals’ inaugural conference took place September 9th to the 11th in Houston, Texas. Norman Fox VP/General Manager, Vickie Madore, was in attendance. The conference provided function specific training and continuing education resources, professional development workshops, networking opportunities, as well as community service opportunities. Key note speaker, Donna Orender, delivered a thought-provoking and inspirational lecture titled “Why Not She, Why Not Me, Why Not Us?”

The conference also included a book club discussion, a community service activity building hands-on science activity kits, a sound bath meditation hour, a boxing workout and a hat making hour.

The mission of Women in Chemicals is to create and identify opportunities to empower women in the chemical industry.
